Description

It should be noted that in circular instruments the wider the drum shells are the higher the bass sound is. The reverse is also done. Therefore the pre-tuned dafs are made with four different widths of drum shells, in order to provide different sound tastes and more options of choice for drummers and users with different sized hands.

Another specification of these drum shells is that they are made by wood carving instead of the bending process. Pre-tuned dafs are made of 36 and tunable dafs with 60 wooden pieces, which leads to greater resistance to the circular shape of the drum shell. As a result, under pressure, heat, or cold, the circular shape of the drum shell won’t change over time.

HaPa’s Dafs are made in a variety of fixed (Pre-tuned) and tunable forms. These Dafs are made with Remo’s synthetic drumheads known as “Fish Skin”, which has a very high resistance as well as a pleasant and warm sonority. The feel and looks of the “Fish Skin” are almost identical to natural skin. There’s no sign of common talc or synthetics.

About HaPa: HaPa Drums is a drum manufacturing company, the collaboration between Pejman Hadadi and Padouk Drums Company was established.
Improved quality, the highest production standards with a perfect sonority, and customer satisfaction are our ultimate goals. Due to the quality improvement and high manufacturing standards, raw materials are chosen with special care and exactness under the supervision of our specialists.
Most of Hapa’s drums are made of Remo manufacturing drumheads, which are made of synthetic fiber (Mylar) with a very unique quality and specific industrial graphics and design.

The outcome of Remo’s 60 years of experience in making synthetic drumheads is a high demand for their products, among many drummers, percussionists, and drum manufacturers around the world. Remo’s logo is noticeable almost on every drumhead around the globe. HaPa’s percussion instruments are not an exception in this case. So to maintain and provide high quality, a variety of Remo’s heads are chosen for different drums.
HaPa drums provide long-lasting and durable products and guarantees musicians’ and users’ satisfaction.

Professional Setar by Jazayeri

$2,200.00
Jazayeri's setar usually has a small bowl made of mulberry or blackberry wood. In some cases, they use walnut wood. But the handle is always made of walnut wood, on which 25 frets are used. The sound is transmitted from the instrument wires to the setar bowl by a small stick called a vault. The vault is made of boxwood and directs the vibrations related to the wire through a thin plate into the bowl. As a result, the sounds come out of the holes on the screen again after being reflected and intensified several times. The length of the Setar bowl is 22 to 30, its width is 12 to 18 and the depth of the bowl is between 12 to 16 cm. Master Jazayeri believes that those who play the instrument and play it attract more attention because they see the exact result of their work. Maybe it's because what they produce has an identity of its own, it has a sound, and the process is generally tangible to them. Sustainability is also important in increasing instrumental pleasure. Because in general, the issue of permanence in works of art is important. For example, a good solo can last 5 years, 10 years, a good ballad can last 20 to 50 years, but we see an instrument that lasts over 100 years. Please Note: Wood coloring and decorations may vary from the photograph. A perfectly smooth, unblemished, the finish is nearly impossible to obtain with the technology employed in the Old-World finish process. These are handmade and such dimples are common and unavoidable.

UDU (Kuzeh) Large – UDL2

$210.00
Kuzeh (Iran) In Baluchestan, two Kuzehs are played with a metal platter. This combination, the oldest idiophone instrument in Baluchestan, is known as Kuzak & Tal. The Kuzeh is never played separately. Rather, it is always accompanied by a platter. The player can change the pitch by adding water into these clay pots. The Kuzeh of Kerman is Spindle-like with no handhold. They are made in small & large sizes to accompany folk songs. Because of the uneven bottom, the player uses special holders or holds it by hands or legs. Since time immemorial, the white clay pot has been common in Hormozgan province. Called Jahleh, this pot is completely round & spherical. To play Jahleh, one palm vertically beats on the throat while the other hand strikes on the body. The sound of the throat is thick while the sound of the body is relatively dry. The combination of these two sounds is marvelous. Jahlehs are played singly or together by a group, though each player never uses more than one Jahleh at a time. No water is added into Jahleh as there is no need to change the pitch. Along with Kuzeh-makers in many different countries, Iranian craftsmen have also begun, in recent years, to manufacture their own as a novel experience. Undoubtedly, the Kuzeh, as a musical instrument with its particular features & capabilities is still far from known to many musicians in the country. Our objective, therefore, is to introduce & popularize it as widely as possible by producing a greater variety of pots with higher musical quality & offering them to those interested in pots, the percussionists in particular.
